Job summary

Coreforce in Atlanta (hybrid) is seeking an Embedded Engineer II to design, implement, and deliver firmware features in C/C++ for bare-metal and embedded Linux platforms.

You will own subsystems, develop drivers for sensors and interfaces, perform board bring-up, and collaborate with hardware engineers. The role emphasizes testing, debugging, and working in an Agile/Scrum environment within a mission-driven public safety tech company.

Qualifications

• Professional experience developing embedded firmware for hardware platforms.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems with memory management and real-time constraints.
• Experience developing and debugging device drivers for GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, USB.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deliver firmware features end-to-end in C/C++ for bare-metal and embedded Linux platforms.
• Own small firmware subsystems including testing, documentation, and maintenance.
• Develop, integrate, and debug device drivers for peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet).
• Perform board bring-up tasks including bootloader configuration and hardware validation.
• Implement and tune interrupt handlers, timers, and low-level scheduling for deterministic behavior.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD, protocol analyzers for debugging.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on schematics and firmware considerations.
• Contribute to BSPs, bootloader configurations, and OS integration for embedded Linux/RTOS.
• Write unit and integration tests; participate in design reviews and sprint planning.
• Break down requirements for tasks and participate in Scrum ceremonies.
