Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Nuclear Power Group in Chicago. You will work on electrical power systems design, perform load flow and short circuit analyses, and collaborate with engineers on design reviews and field verifications.

The role supports hybrid work with in-office presence three days per week and opportunities for mentorship, training, and involvement in major power equipment procurement and installation services. ABET-accredited background preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with strong power concepts/power systems analysis.
• Understanding practical application of EE and technology in project design.
• Knowledge of techniques for creating technical plans, drawings and models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for nuclear plant projects.
• Prepare complex calculations including load flow, short circuit, power flow, and system impact analyses.
• Develop cable ampacity and equipment/material specifications.
• Prepare design inputs, reports and technical documentation.
