Job summary

Synectics Inc. seeks a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to support and lead electrical design across a variety of building projects, taking on independent design responsibilities, client coordination, and project ownership while progressing toward senior leadership.

You will design power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems, perform arc flash studies and load calculations, and manage projects from concept through documentation in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design for building systems.
• Strong knowledge of the Chicago Electrical Code (required)
• Experience with NEC/NESC and relevant industry standards
• Familiarity with IESNA lighting recommendations
• Experience with higher education, healthcare, or complex facilities preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Lead and support electrical design and analysis for building systems and campuses
• Perform design of power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems
• Conduct electrical analysis such as arc flash studies and load calculations
• Manage large projects and oversee smaller projects led by junior engineers
