Job summary

Zurich North America is hiring an experienced E&S Excess Casualty Underwriter to join our Casualty team in Chicago, New York, Parsippany, or Atlanta. Hybrid work arrangements are available to support you, clients, and brokers.

The role can be filled at Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist level based on experience, with responsibilities spanning risk assessment, pricing, and cross-functional collaboration to grow a profitable book of business.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in insurance or market facing areas; or
• 2+ years in claims or underwriting support with industry knowledge
• Knowledge of underwriting philosophy and regulatory guidelines
• Familiarity with insurance laws and rating rules

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain broker/ customer relationships across industries
• Apply underwriting acumen to risk assessment, exposure evaluation and pricing
• Collaborate with claims, finance, risk engineering and actuary units
• Coach and empower junior team members
