Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Scientist in Indianapolis, IN to lead downstream process development for biologics. You will design experiments, implement QbD principles, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across sites.

The role spans bench to pilot scales, with responsibility for tech transfer and regulatory-ready documentation. The position requires a relevant science degree and hands-on lab experience; the team emphasizes collaboration, quality, and innovation in a fast-paced biopharma

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering).
• MS with 0–2 years of lab experience or BS with 5+ years of lab experience in bioprocessing.
• Direct experience in downstream biologics process development or protein purification.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct downstream process development experiments for monoclonal antibodies and other biologics.
• Apply Quality by Design principles to process development and risk mitigation.
• Serve as a downstream technical resource for Biopharma Technical Development, TS/MS, and commercial teams.
• Support scale-up, tech transfer, and external CMOs/ CROs.
• Review and present process data; prepare reports and regulatory documents.
