Safe Horizon in New York, NY is seeking a Development and Communications Specialist to support donor processing, data management, and reporting within the Development and Communications Department. You will assist with gift acknowledgments, donor communications, and cross-functional workflows to drive revenue growth.

The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with Salesforce or similar systems, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in non-profit fundraising or donor systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with fundraising platforms or donation tracking systems.
• Experience managing filing systems; comfort with SharePoint is helpful.
• Experience with websites and online portals is beneficial.
• Proficiency with Canva or similar online design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming mail weekly and enter donations batches into Salesforce.
• Draft, edit, and mail gift acknowledgment letters for all donors.
• Refresh standard donor letters and emails with updated copy.
• Maintain donation records, including proposal and pledge documentation for audit trails.
• Generate routine Salesforce reports and update donor leads by source.
