Xcel Energy is seeking an entry-level Distribution Planning Engineer to help develop and implement near- and mid-term distribution plans ensuring safe, reliable delivery of electric service. The role involves conducting power flow studies, hosting capacity assessments, and load forecasting while collaborating across teams to align technical work with business goals.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited curriculum.
• 0+ years relevant engineering experience. Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level.
• EIT/FE (Engineer in Training) strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform distribution system analyses including power flow studies and hosting capacity assessments.
• Develop execution plans for capacity expansion projects and evaluate non-wires alternatives.
• Support distribution planning regulatory filings and planning standards maintenance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (account management, regulatory, relations) to align engineering with business objectives.
• Lead or coordinate intern/technician activities and provide mentoring as needed.
