Job summary

SMBC is seeking a Director-level leader to drive transformation programs in Technology and Data within its Americas Finance Change function. You will oversee a portfolio of large-scale change projects, partner with senior stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Finance, and guide a team of junior staff to deliver rigorous, data-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years experience in change/project management within financial services.
• Ability to manage complex projects across multiple stakeholder groups with attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of change/program management, financial operations and planning, risk and controls, IT processes, and data management.
• Ability to strategically develop and implement complex process and technology change initiatives.
• Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and manage competing deadlines with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of financial management of project budgets and resources.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and partner with all levels.
• Ability to lead a team of resources and manage a large book of work.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
• Flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Finance change projects / workstreams and produce executive management updates and presentations.
• Design and support change management programs including stakeholder assessment, impact analysis, and strategy execution.
• Execute PM responsibilities for large-scale change initiatives within Finance Change, with execution rigor and stakeholder communications.
• Contribute to design and implementation of programs/technology strategy delivering scalable solutions.
• Set objectives and targets to measure delivery and milestones.
• Monitor progress and provide transparent reporting to stakeholders and senior management.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Develop team by supporting programs and cultivating new skills.
