Job summary

Scale seeks a Development Engineer to support distributed energy and microgrid projects. The role involves creating electrical and physical designs for DER assets and coordinating interconnection requirements.

You will work with BD, execution, and commercial teams to craft technically sound, cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in power/generation project design, knowledge of solar, battery, and engines, and a BS in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of distributed energy and microgrid technologies.
• Ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience with interconnection and utility coordination is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical and physical designs for microgrid systems and DER assets.
• Identify technical constraints and communicate options to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with BD and project teams to develop technical solutions.
• Ensure designs meet site constraints, interconnection requirements, and cost targets.
• Coordinate with equipment providers to align switchgear design with project needs.
• Support solar, battery, and generator design integration for performance and reliability.
• Contribute to process improvement and template development for projects.
