Job summary

Scale Microgrids is seeking a Director of Power Systems Engineering to lead a team delivering off-grid and grid-tied microgrid solutions for data centers and DER projects. You will mentor engineers, define roadmaps, review designs, and coordinate with BD, execution, and commercial teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in power systems, 3+ years leading technical teams, and deep knowledge of solar, storage, switchgear, and reciprocating engines. Hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in power systems engineering.
• 3+ years leading technical teams in high-growth environments.
• Experience with solar, storage, switchgear, and reciprocating engines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for microgrid projects and core technologies.
• Define best practices, standards, and guidelines for high-quality engineering.
• Review electrical designs and controls sequences for projects.
• Oversee relay protection settings and power systems analysis.
• Define long-term technical vision and product roadmaps for microgrids.
• Coordinate with business development, execution, and commercial teams.
• Mentor and grow a diverse engineering team.
• Set goals, provide feedback, and manage staffing priorities.
