Job summary

MOCA Systems, Inc. is seeking a Design Manager (Owner’s Representative / Architect) to lead envisioning and design management on large, complex construction programs.

Hybrid work in Southern California, primarily remote, with frequent site and client coordination to ensure the project stays aligned with the original vision and budget. The role requires a California-registered architect, NCARB accreditation, and six+ years in design/construction.

Qualifications

• NCARB accredited Bachelor’s degree in architecture and a minimum of six (6) years as a practicing architect involved in planning, design and construction.
• Registered Architect in California and active license desired.
• LEED AP, DBIA, PMP or CCM desired.
• Experience in all phases of work required.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate with leaders and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of complex projects including visioning, design management and procurement.
• Maintain open dialogue with the client and stakeholders on status and expectations.
• Lead meetings, prepare content and meeting minutes.
• Assist in business development proposals and interviews.
• Collaborate on client workshops and documentation of findings.
• Develop Comprehensive Implementation Plans with leadership guidance.
• Manage design and construction teams to align with the project vision.
• Attend field walks and reviews to ensure quality and craftsmanship.
• Travel up to 25% to project sites and client offices.
