Job summary

Kentro in Washington, DC is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Policy Specialist to support the DOC ECAT program. Hybrid location in Washington, DC with a compensation range of $80,000-$90,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS, public policy, technical communication, or related field.
• Minimum four years of experience supporting cybersecurity policy, IT policy, governance, compliance, or technical writing.
• Experience drafting, editing, reviewing, or maintaining policies and technical documents.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear policy language.
• Strong writing, proofreading, research, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting, editing, and finalizing cybersecurity policies, standards, and handbooks for federal review.
• Support annual reviews and updates of published policy documents and track revision history.
• Research cybersecurity guidance and summarize findings for incorporation into policy.
• Coordinate document reviews with SMEs, cyber liaisons, and stakeholders.
• Prepare documents for publication and maintain policy repositories and publication records.
• Develop policy communications using presentations, infographics, and SharePoint content.
