IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. in Westbrook, ME seeks a Data Engineer to design and scale data infrastructure powering analytics, AI-enabled products, and decision-making. Hybrid role with 2 days onsite weekly at our Westbrook headquarters.

Join a collaborative team leveraging cloud and AI tech to deliver scalable data pipelines and governance across the organization. You will build SQL/Python data solutions, contribute to data models, and support deployment and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience building data pipelines.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data ecosystems.
• Experience using CI/CD practices to support data engineering development.
• Strong collaboration and communication with stakeholders.
• Attention to data quality, governance, and continuous improvement.
• 1–3 years of data engineering experience; eager to expand ownership.
• Experience with Dagster, AWS, Snowflake, and GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines for analytics, AI applications, dashboards, and enterprise reporting.
• Develop and maintain SQL and Python code for data transformation, integration, testing, and validation.
• Contribute to enterprise data models for consistency, scalability, and reuse.
• Support automated deployment processes and CI/CD for data solutions.
• Partner with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver trusted data assets.
• Help define standards for data storage, integration, access, and cloud governance.
• Apply AI and LLM technologies within data pipelines to improve efficiency and capabilities.
• Build and enhance AI-powered agents and solutions for business users and workflows.
• Participate in code reviews and data governance practices.
• Monitor and optimize pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Resolve production issues balancing evolving business priorities.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver impactful data solutions.
