Job summary

Securian Financial is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines enabling AI, analytics, and enterprise use cases. You will partner with data scientists, ML engineers, product managers, and technology teams to deliver trusted, secure data solutions that drive measurable business value.

You will mentor teammates, apply robust governance, and evolve data architecture to meet changing needs in a fast-moving data environment.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• Experience with ETL, data storage options, data quality, and structured/unstructured data.
• Proficient in ANSI SQL; AWS and Snowflake cloud experience.
• Python or Java programming proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimize data pipelines and transformations for AI, analytics, and enterprise use cases.
• Evolve architecture and patterns to meet changing data requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, ML engineers, technology teams, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions with business value.
• Mentor teammates and promote best practices for data solutions.
• Apply data governance and security tooling to ensure data is secure, discoverable, trusted, and accessible.
• Devise technical solutions to drive business outcomes based on customer and process understanding.
