Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Lead Electrical Project Manager to be based in Utah. This role drives electrical design, procurement, construction, commissioning and turnover for mission-critical facilities within our data center portfolio.

You will coordinate with clients, GCs, EPCs and internal teams to ensure milestones, quality and safety standards are met, while guiding cost and schedule controls for large electrical scopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field preferred
• 15 years in Construction and PMP/CCM or equivalent certification preferred
• 5+ years’ experience managing large-scale industrial, mission-critical or data center projects
• Knowledge of electrical systems, distribution, cooling infrastructure and critical facility operations
• Understanding of construction means and methods, project delivery processes and contract administration
• Experience with commissioning processes and operational readiness planning and execution
• Experience managing electrical scopes in excess of $100M in construction value
• Experience with cloud-based PMIS and project controls platforms
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage all electrical activities from pre-construction through occupancy and warranty enforcement
• Serve as primary electrical point of contact between client, GC’s, EPC’s, AECOM staff and project stakeholders
• Ensure alignment between electrical infrastructure requirements and project objectives
• Oversee installation of electrical systems including switchyards, switchgear, transformers, UPS, BESS, ATS, generators and distribution
• Monitor contractor performance and conduct field inspections for quality and conformance
• Coordinate electrical milestones with mechanical, civil, architectural, and commissioning teams
• Provide technical direction and ensure project design, budget, schedule and quality compliance
• Work with commissioning agents and clients to ensure successful energization and start-up
• Document field activities, review RFIs, submittals, and Pay Applications in coordination with Project Controls
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with the general contractor as needed
• Review and document condition of off-site stored electrical equipment with OFCI firm
