Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield offers a 2027 Summer Internship in Data Analytics & Governance. You will work within Data Governance to improve data quality in the data warehouse, influence data decisions, and resolve production data issues.

Projects include implementing governance tools, building AI use cases, and delivering Power BI dashboards. This role starts in Des Moines, with hybrid work and a part-time schedule during the year and full-time in summer.

Qualifications

• Current student in MIS, Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science or related programs.
• Familiarity with database systems, ETL tools, Excel, data visualization platforms and data warehousing like Power BI, AWS, Azure/Fabric and Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Support governance tools implementation (Metadata, Master Data, Reference data).
• Help build data quality dashboards and alerts in AWS Glue.
• Assist in governance reporting and Power BI dashboard development.
