Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is offering a 2027 Summer Internship in Data Analytics & Governance based in Des Moines, IA. The program focuses on improving data quality, governance tooling, and BI reporting, with opportunities to work on real projects.

You will support Informatica, AWS Glue, Power BI dashboards, and AI use cases in an Agile environment, while learning from experts and building hands-on experience applicable to a health insurance setting.

Qualifications

• Student in MIS/CS/Analytics or related programs.
• Familiar with DBs, ETL tools, Excel, and data visualization tools.
• Experience with Power BI, AWS, Azure/Fabric and Databricks.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week in summer.
• Hybrid schedule 10-20 hrs/week during academic year; Tue-Thu in-office.

Responsibilities

• Support governance tool implementation (Metadata, Master/Data)
• Build out Data Quality Management rules and dashboards with AWS Glue
• Develop Power BI dashboards for governance reporting
• Assist with AI use cases (Generative/Agentic)
• Collaborate in Agile DevOps environments
