Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield offers a 2027 Summer Internship Program designed to provide meaningful work and professional development in the health insurance industry. The internship starts in May 2027 and follows a hybrid schedule from our Des Moines headquarters, with opportunities to contribute to operational initiatives and gain broader exposure

Qualifications

• Current junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in communication, English, business administration, or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various business areas.
• Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on small-scale deliverables and gain exposure to cross-divisional work across Wellmark.
• Support Intelligence research requests and help produce the monthly newsletter.
• Contribute to operational initiatives that improve systems and processes and deliver insights.
• Support emerging AI initiatives and cross-functional priorities.
• Strengthen health care business acumen in a collaborative team environment.
