Job summary

Nationwide is hiring for a Cyber Security Operations Center frontend/backend engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable digital experiences. You will own frontend implementation with Angular and backend services, connecting to enterprise APIs and AI-enabled capabilities while collaborating across security, platform, and data teams.

The role emphasizes observability, secure delivery, and a strong focus on engineering patterns that align with Nationwide golden path technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong full stack skills with Angular frontend and Java/Python backend
• Experience building production web apps and APIs using enterprise standards
• Knowledge of frontend architecture, state management, API integration and secure development
• Experience building backend services and integration layers for UI workflows
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices and coding assistants
• Experience integrating apps with agentic workflows and LLM-backed capabilities
• Experience with AWS enterprise delivery patterns, CI/CD, deployment and ops controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and operates modern user-facing apps and supporting services
• Owns frontend implementation, backend integration, and workflow design
• Collaborate with cyber security, platform, and data teams to ensure usable, secure apps
• Deliver scalable, observable applications aligned with enterprise standards
• Instrument apps with logs, metrics, traces, and health telemetry
• Support secure authentication, authorization, and secrets handling
• Troubleshoot defects and improve engineering quality over time
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned
