Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Cyber Security Platform Engineer to join the CSOC-INI team and build a secure production backbone for agentic AI. You will own environments, deployment automation, runtime controls, and observability to ensure scalable, governable security across cloud environments.

The role partners with engineers to advance platform standards, cost awareness, and incident response, with hybrid work options and collaboration across multiple U.S. offices.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in cyber security, MIS, engineering, math, computer science, data analytics or comparable experience and education strongly preferred.
• Graduate studies in cyber security or related field are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Builds and operates the secure platform foundation for agentic solutions in production for the CSOC-INI team.
• Owns environments, deployment automation, runtime controls, identity and access patterns, observability, and service reliability.
• Partner closely with solution engineers to provide reusable platform capabilities and ensure agentic services can be deployed, monitored, governed, and recovered safely at scale.
• Respond to cyber incidents using industry methodologies and build detections and alerts for ongoing threat prevention.
• Support vulnerability management and help plan/execute team activities to improve detection and controls.
