Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) seeks an Interim Chief Technology Officer to lead ITG, shaping the vision and architecture of the university’s core technology infrastructure. The CTO will oversee networks, data centers, security, and continuity, while guiding strategic initiatives and budgeting in a hybrid work model.

The role requires deep IT leadership, experience in healthcare/academic environments, and the ability to mentor directors and managers within a collaborative executive

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in information technology or related field, or Bachelor’s with significant experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible IT management experience.
• Three years in senior management with budgeting/financial reporting.
• Experience developing and implementing IT strategies.
• Experience in a complex technology environment.
• Experience evaluating requirements, options, governance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define scalable technology architecture aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Direct delivery and reliability of core technology services and networks.
• Oversee IT capacity planning and risk management.
• Lead division leadership and mentoring of staff.
• Manage operating and capital budgets; oversee vendor relationships.
