Placements24 is seeking a Corporate Legal Advisor for a dynamic financial services client based in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on governance, compliance, and contractual matters, providing strategic legal support across the organization.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of corporate law experience in the financial services sector, with strong negotiation and contract drafting skills, and can operate effectively in a hybrid work environment in Welkom.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with minimum 6 years' experience in corporate law within finance/regulated sectors.
• Solid knowledge of SA financial services regulations (FAIS, FICA, POPIA).
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation and governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate law, governance, and regulatory compliance within the financial services industry.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, service level agreements, and other legal documents.
• Assist in the preparation of board minutes, resolutions, and statutory filings.
• Monitor and advise on changes in legislation and regulations affecting the financial services sector.
• Support business units with legal advice on new products and services.
• Manage legal aspects of corporate restructurings and transactions.
• Conduct legal risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Maintain and update company policies and procedures.
