Job summary

Green Key Resources is partnering with a growing real estate investment, development, and property management company to appoint a Corporate Controller. This hands-on leader will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, cash management, budgeting support, and process improvements in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

The ideal candidate has a CPA and a background in public accounting with progressive accounting leadership within a small to mid-sized organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Public accounting foundation
• Progressive accounting experience within industry, including leadership responsibility for a full accounting function.
• Experience working for a small to mid-sized company where a hands-on approach is required.
• Real estate industry experience strongly preferred but not required
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing audits and coordinating with external service providers.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting and ERP systems.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all corporate accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage and improve the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee cash management, treasury activities, and banking relationships.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives in partnership with executive management.
• Monitor accounting for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and operating properties.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Partner with ownership and senior leadership to provide financial analysis and business insights.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor accounting staff as the organization grows.
