Job summary

Univar Solutions in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Contract Specialist to support North American operations by reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements. You’ll coordinate with subject matter experts, maintain templates, and ensure risk areas are addressed in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of contract review experience, a relevant undergraduate degree, and strong negotiation, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum undergraduate degree in business, law, or relevant field.
• 3-5 years of experience reviewing contracts, preferably a mix of law-firm experience and in-house experience.
• Demonstrable skill in negotiating and understanding contract provisions and risk allocation.

• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation styles to interact with diverse audiences.
• Ability to operate within a matrixed management environment.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Utilization of contract management system, like Agiloft.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including reviewing contracts per the Company’s playbooks.
• Tagging contract provisions and tracking review status using Agiloft.
• Coordinating the review of subject matter experts when needed.
• Working with the commercial team to ensure any identified areas of risk are addressed.
• Working with other members in the legal department and other contract stakeholders to resolve issues in the applicable contract.
• Assist with creating and updating contract templates and playbooks.
• Perform other related and administrative duties as required or requested.
