Univar Solutions in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Contract Specialist to support North American operations by reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements. You’ll coordinate with subject matter experts, maintain templates, and ensure risk areas are addressed in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of contract review experience, a relevant undergraduate degree, and strong negotiation, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Perform other related and administrative duties as required or requested.

Contract Specialist:

The Contract Specialist will be responsible for supporting Univar’s North American business operations by assisting with the review and negotiation of various commercial agreements in a broad range of areas. We are looking for someone who can ‘roll up their sleeves’, work in a fast-paced environment, provide quality legal reviews through a pragmatic and realistic lens, and is solution-oriented. We value process improvement over answering “interesting” questions of law.

What You’ll Do:

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including without limitation:
  • Reviewing contracts per the Company’s playbooks
  • Tagging contract provisions and tracking review status using the Company’s contract management system, Agiloft
  • Coordinating the review of subject matter experts when needed
  • Working with the commercial team to ensure any identified areas of risk are appropriately addressed
  • Working with other members in the legal department and other contract stakeholders to resolve issues in the applicable contract
• Assist with creating and updating contract templates and playbooks
• Perform other related and administrative duties as required or requested

What You’ll Bring:

Where You'll Work:

This is a hybrid-based role that will report out of our headquarters in Downers Grove, IL

• The salary range is $73,000 - $80,000. This role is also eligible for incentive pay.
• The specific salary offered to a candidate may be motivated by a variety of factors including the candidate’s meaningful experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
• Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental. We also provide 401k matching for retirement and flexible time off.
