Job summary

Parkhill in Texas seeks an Assistant Construction Manager to support planning, coordination, and oversight from preconstruction through closeout, working with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities include site observations, document reviews, RFIs, submittals, schedules, cost tracking, and meetings; assist with QA/QC and project closeout activities. 2+ years in construction required, CCM pursued preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a construction-related role.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations.
• Working towards CCM is required.
• Familiarity with reading construction drawings and schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore/Bluebeam/Primavera preferred.
• OSHA 10/30 certification is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Valid US driver’s license to visit project sites.

Responsibilities

• Supports Planning, coordination, and oversight of construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Performs site observations and monitors progress, quality, and conformance; documents observations and communicates concerns.
• Reviews drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts to understand requirements and identify conflicts.
• Coordinates RFIs, submittals, change requests, payment apps through review and resolution.
• Monitors schedules, milestones, and look-ahead activities; assist with mitigation strategies.
• Supports project cost management by tracking budgets and changes; reviews contractor proposals.
