Job summary

City of Austin seeks an Engineering Construction Coordinator I to monitor and inspect routine CIP construction activities for quality and compliance with contract specifications and city codes. You will work under close supervision on projects within the Capital Delivery Services department.

The role requires strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills, with some remote/hybrid work options and a need to travel to multiple locations as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years' civil/construction experience.
• Experience inspecting civil infrastructure projects preferred.
• Ability to travel to multiple work locations and handle field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conducts site visits to monitor and inspect contractor work for quality and compliance.
• Completes daily reports documenting construction activities, progress, delays, and incidents.
• Attends contractor meetings, including pre-construction conferences and progress meetings.
• Reviews payment applications to verify material quantities and calculations for accuracy.
• Coordinates with design teams to resolve conflicts and ensure compliance with plans and standards.
• Documents design changes during construction and ensures accurate as-built plans.
