Job summary

The Legal Aid Society of Rochester, NY is seeking a Community Advocate to provide direct support and navigation for clients facing housing and benefits barriers. The role includes intake, resource referrals, and ongoing client communication to advance identified goals.

You will build relationships with housing providers, community agencies, and care managers, while maintaining confidential records and contributing to program initiatives in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Assist clients with intake and documentation in a timely, confidential manner.
• Experience in case management, advocacy, outreach, or housing navigation is preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse and underserved populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intake and assess needs related to housing and public benefits.
• Provide referrals, advocacy, and resource navigation to clients.
• Maintain ongoing contact to monitor progress and support engagement with services.
• Build relationships with community partners and represent the organization at events.
• Open and maintain client files, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
• Prepare reports and documentation in accordance with requirements.
