Job summary

Allegheny County Department of Human Services (onsite at Community Family Advocates) seeks a professional service coordinator to be the first contact for community members accessing the Homeless Continuum of Care. This role provides resource coordination and advocacy for individuals in homelessness or housing crisis, supporting eviction prevention and coordinated entry efforts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a field related to social services or a Bachelor’s with at least two years of field work.
• Experience providing services to individuals and families in housing/homelessness contexts.
• Familiarity with HUD Coordinated Entry and homelessness services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet with individuals and families in person to assess needs and coordinate services.
• Respond to phone inquiries to assess immediate needs and provide referrals.
• Provide crisis intervention and supportive listening as needed.
• Educate clients on housing options, programs, and next steps.
• Maintain HMIS with client activity and participate in team meetings.
