Job summary

The Aspen Institute is a global nonprofit headquartered in Washington, DC, seeking a Communications & Marketing Senior Associate for Aspen Digital in a hybrid Washington, DC–based role. The position emphasizes email marketing, website design and maintenance, and cross-team coordination under the Director of External Engagement & Communications.

3–5 years in communications/marketing are required, with a strong track record in email campaigns, branding, and SEO.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in communications and marketing.
• Excellent track record of working on communications and marketing campaigns, specifically on email communications, website design, and branding.
• Skilled in Search Engine Optimization and web accessibility.
• Strong organization and project-management skills, including ability to juggle multiple projects without losing attention to detail and quality, engaging with stakeholders, and consistently meeting deadlines.
• Excellent copywriting and copyediting skills.
• Be operations savvy, with a focus on detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in developing a communications and marketing strategy for Aspen Digital, including for specific campaigns around public-facing summits, and execute implementation under supervision of Director.
• Coordinate content creation and timelines with project teams; publish entries and blog posts on the website; update site and maintain accuracy.
• Improve overall website design and feel; coordinate timely creation of marketing materials for events.
• Collaborate in developing and executing strategies for Aspen Digital’s websites and email marketing, including maintaining accurate email list segmentation, drafting email copy, and conducting content testing with performance analytics.
• Assist in scoping and managing relevant vendors, including web development; liaise with stakeholders to coordinate regular communications and materials for events.
• Support in identifying and tracking objectives/KPIs for website and email communications and share responsibility for meeting them.
• Other duties as assigned.
