Placements24 is seeking a Commercial Appliance Maintenance Technician to service and repair commercial kitchen equipment across hotels, restaurants, and catering venues in the Rustenburg area. The role combines on-site service calls with potential workshop or remote tasks, requiring strong diagnostic skills and a customer-focused approach.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, and dishwashers, plus the ability to read schematics and manuals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Appliance Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of various commercial kitchen appliances and their operating principles.
• Proficiency in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and gas-related issues.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
• Relevant trade certifications or qualifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen appliances, including ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in a variety of commercial cooking, refrigeration, and food service equipment.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair diagrams.
• Replace faulty parts and components, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure all equipment is operating in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Respond to emergency service calls and provide prompt, effective repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain issues, proposed solutions, and service outcomes.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
• Assist in managing inventory of spare parts and supplies as needed.
