Job summary

Thrifty White Pharmacy in Maple Grove, MN seeks a COBOL Programmer to design, develop, test, and maintain our proprietary pharmacy management system. Hybrid work arrangement includes half-time in-office in Maple Grove and half-time remote support.

You will collaborate with a small, agile team to drive system improvements, support business requirements, and deliver reliable software across a Linux-based environment using Micro Focus COBOL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and minimum 10 years related work experience in the design, development, and maintenance of COBOL applications.
• Competent to work on a high level of application systems analysis and programming activities.
• Experience working with the Linux operating system is a plus.
• Experience with legacy system modernization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our pharmacy management system and related corporate projects.
• Collaborate with Data Warehouse team to provide critical data for decision making.
• Work independently or with others on larger development projects.
• Test programs to ensure proper functionality and design specifications.
• Debug, fix, and enhance systems as needed.
• Research, identify, and resolve user problems on the system.
• Assist in writing user documentation of program functionality.
• Monitor performance after implementation.
• Support front-line Tech Help to resolve complex issues.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
