Thrifty White Pharmacy is seeking a COBOL Programmer in Maple Grove, MN to design, develop, test, and maintain our pharmacy management system. The role supports business requirements from senior management and involves a compact, agile team working on Linux-based COBOL applications.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with half in the Maple Grove office and half remote, encouraging collaboration with our Data Warehouse team and frontline IT support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
• Minimum 10 years of COBOL design, development and maintenance experience.
• Experience with Linux operating systems is a plus.
• Ability to work in both team environments and independently.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the pharmacy management system and corporate projects.
• Collaborate with Data Warehouse team for data delivery and decision-making.
• Work independently or with others on larger projects.
• Test programs to ensure functionality and design compliance.
• Debug, fix, and enhance systems.
• Assist end users by researching and resolving issues.
