Job summary

Populous seeks a Cloud Engineer in Dallas to design, implement and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. You will work with the Global IT team, supporting migration efforts, automation, and hybrid networking to ensure high availability and security across platforms.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud engineering, strong scripting skills, and experience with IaC and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with cloud networking concepts (VPC, VNets, subnets, routing).
• Experience configuring and managing firewalls and security controls (Palo Alto, AWS Security Groups, NACLs, Azure NSGs).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and designing secure connectivity (VPNs, private endpoints, hybrid networking).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure environments.
• Architecting secure network solutions, including VPCs/VNets, subnets and routing.
• Managing firewalls and security controls to ensure compliance.
• Extending Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK, Terraform) and proposing improvements.
• Monitoring performance, availability and security with cloud-native tools.
• Supporting cloud migration strategies and hybrid cloud architecture.
• Designing secure connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute).
• Maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment targets across environments.
• Participating in vulnerability response and remediation timelines.
• Troubleshooting cloud, network and firewall issues.
• Supporting deployment infrastructure for web apps and on-premises software distribution.
