Job summary

Farmers and Merchants Bank of Long Beach seeks a Senior Data Center & Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure its enterprise network across data centers, offices, and Azure cloud. The role blends on-premises and hybrid-cloud strategies with a focus on security, resiliency, and automation.

You will collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Infosecurity, and Infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, compliant network solutions and lead modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience designing and supporting enterprise data center and core network infrastructure.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience building resilient, scalable network infrastructures for mission-critical operations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise network security, firewall policies, segmentation, and secure remote access.
• Experience with WAN technologies including MPLS, Internet, VPN, SD-WAN, and carrier-based services.
• Advanced Azure networking expertise: VNets, subnets, peering, NSGs, UDRs, Private Link/Endpoints/DNS, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Firewall, App Gateway/WAF, Load Balancer.
• Knowledge of hub-and-spoke, Virtual WAN, and cloud-to-datacenter connectivity.
• IaC, network automation with Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, APIs, Git.
• Knowledge of monitoring, telemetry, capacity planning, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise data center, core, and cloud network infrastructure.
• Engineer resilient routing, switching, segmentation, and redundancy for business continuity.
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, and VPN services.
• Support connectivity across data centers, offices, and colocation facilities.
• Design and manage Azure networking services: VNets, peering, NSGs, Private Link, ExpressRoute.
• Architect hybrid cloud networking with Azure ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Hub-and-Spoke, Virtual WAN.
• Manage Azure security services: Azure Firewall, WAF, Load Balancer, AKS, and PaaS networking.
• Oversee WAN improvement, SD-WAN/SASE adoption, and secure remote access.
• Develop network diagrams, standards, and documentation; mentor junior engineers.
