Job summary

Farmers and Merchants Bank of Long Beach seeks a Senior Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate its Microsoft Azure cloud platform in support of technology modernization.

The role emphasizes Azure services, IaC, AKS, security, CI/CD, observability, and platform reliability engineering across multiple teams to deliver compliant, scalable cloud solutions for the Bank.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, cloud engineering or related tech.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments.
• Experience within a regulated industry (banking/financial services) and strong security/compliance knowledge.
• Experience migrating VMware/virtualized workloads to Azure and operating Azure platform services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support Azure infrastructure and platform services aligned with strategic objectives.
• Establish and enhance Azure Landing Zones, governance, and identity integration.
• Develop reusable cloud architectures enabling secure, scalable adoption of Azure services.
• Engineer scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions including backup/DR capabilities.
• Migrate on-premises apps/workloads to Microsoft Azure.
• Build and maintain IaC modules with Terraform, Bicep, and Azure deployment tech.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Git.
• Automate provisioning and operational processes using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or Bash.
• Design and manage AKS environments including cluster lifecycle and security.
• Implement Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, and Zero Trust principles.
• Establish monitoring with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Collaborate with Security, Audit, Risk, and Network teams to embed controls.
• Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotations as required.
