Job summary

Talution Group is seeking a Cloud and Automation Engineer to design, build, and operate infrastructure across Azure and on‑prem environments, with a strong emphasis on automation and self‑service. You will collaborate with engineering, security, and business partners to replace repetitive tasks with code and reliable processes.

This role is well suited for someone who has deep systems and cloud engineering experience, enjoys learning new platforms, and wants to mature a team's practices.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating and automating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code in public cloud (Azure preferred) and on-premises environments.
• Ability to translate business and application requirements into resilient, secure infrastructure designs.
• Experience working in cross-functional or squad-based delivery models with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate infrastructure across Azure and on-premises hyperconverged environments, applying consistent engineering principles regardless of platform.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using IaC practices, reducing manual work across the environment.
• Partner with cross-functional squads to translate requirements into resilient, secure infrastructure designs.
• Co-design systems and platforms with application developers, favoring immutable infrastructure patterns.
• Contribute to the evolution of our hybrid cloud strategy and determine workload placement between private data center and Azure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, and identity layers.
• Establish and document standards, runbooks, and patterns to reduce tribal knowledge.
• Embed SRE principles and engineering practices to improve reliability and proactive detection.
• Identify opportunities to insource work from external managed services through automation and monitoring.
• Shift focus from bespoke infrastructure towardaaS models and codified platforms for efficiency.
