Job summary

GovCIO is looking for a Senior Cloud Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines across AWS and Azure. The role is hybrid in Arlington, VA, requiring deep IaC expertise and a strong focus on scalable, secure deployments.

The candidate will design Terraform modules, create Ansible playbooks, and implement CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, ensuring repeatable processes and resilience across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 12+ years experience.
• Secret clearance required; able to obtain DEA suitability.
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Terraform modules for multi-cloud infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement IaC best practices and standards across the organization.
• Create and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management and application deployment.
• Build reusable, modular automation frameworks across projects.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure templates and blueprints for common deployment patterns.
• Automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Develop rollback and recovery mechanisms for deployments.
