Job summary

DivIHN Integration Inc is seeking a Senior Cloud and Automation Engineer for a permanent hybrid role based in Chicago, IL. You will design, build, and operate Azure and on‑prem infrastructure, and drive automation to replace repetitive manual work with code and process.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional squads, apply IaC practices (Terraform/Ansible), and contribute to a resilient, secure hybrid cloud strategy while embedding SRE principles and proactive incident handling.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of demonstrated experience integrating and automating infrastructure using IaC in a public cloud (Azure preferred) and in a virtualized/on‑premises environment.
• Experience working in cross-functional or squad-based delivery models with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders outside your team.
• Demonstrated Terraform and Ansible experience, ideally in an Azure environment.
• Strong grounding in availability, scalability, security, cost, and operability; ability to reason about trade-offs.
• Builder mindset: automate and codify solutions rather than manual work.
• Comfort operating across a hybrid environment and understanding workload placement impact on cost and performance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across interdependent systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate infrastructure across Azure and on‑premises hyperconverged environments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and operations using IaC, reducing manual work.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional squads to translate requirements into resilient designs.
• Co‑design systems with developers, favoring immutable infrastructure patterns.
• Contribute to hybrid cloud strategy and determine what belongs in private data centers vs. Azure.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning cloud, virtualization, storage, networking and identity.
• Establish standards, runbooks, and patterns to reduce tribal knowledge.
• Embed SRE practices, focusing on reliability, proactive detection, and repeatable processes.
