Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Architect to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit in Tysons, VA. You will design, engineer, and maintain hybrid cloud solutions across federal, local, and commercial customers.

You will define cloud architecture standards, mentor engineers, and collaborate with DevOps to enable CI/CD and IaC while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a Public Trust clearance.
• High school diploma with 12+ years of experience in electronic security systems or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with related experience preferred; vendor certifications are a plus.
• Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS; flexible schedule including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design hybrid cloud solutions integrating on‑prem with public cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Define cloud standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
• Lead design/implementation of virtual networks, IAM, storage, compute, and container solutions.
• Oversee migration strategies to hybrid/cloud environments.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Optimize workloads for cost, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with DevOps to enable CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend strategic adoption.
• Translate complex security findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
