Job summary

Northern Illinois University is seeking a Clean Energy Programs Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Clean Building Navigator and CEJA Capacity Grant programs. The role requires coordinating across staff and partners, ensuring timely deliverables, and translating strategy into workflows.

You will report to the Director of Clean Energy Ecosystem Development and manage five direct reports, with travel across Illinois and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3 years in energy efficiency and/or renewable energy.
• 3 years building strategic partnerships in Illinois.
• 2 years direct people management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Clean Building Navigator Program and CEJA Capacity Grant Program.
• Coordinate activities across technical, community, and data workstreams to meet milestones.
• Translate strategic direction into operational workflows and cross-team coordination.
• Directly manage five staff and supervise contracted facilitators.
