Job summary

Progressive Insurance is seeking a claims specialist to investigate intricate large-loss injury claims valued over $60k. You will consult with law enforcement, medical professionals, claimants and others to determine coverage, liability and the total value of complex claims.

The hybrid role requires attendance at the office about four days per month for meetings and training, with coaching from a supportive team. If you prefer more in-office days, you may work there more often.

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly build rapport and successfully effect settlements; strong negotiation and customer service skills.
• Three or more years of Casualty and Litigation claims handling experience.
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Knowledge of civil procedure rules for filing/answers, discovery deadlines, and venue.
• Ability to direct the use of discovery tools such as interrogatories, depositions, and production of documents.

Responsibilities

• Investigate intricate and high-risk claims, potentially with litigation features, to determine coverage, liability and total claim value.
• Coordinate with police, medical professionals, claimants and others involved in the accident; gather information for claim assessment.
• Consult with internal teams and use findings to resolve large-loss injury claims valued over $60k.
