Job summary

Kleinschmidt is hiring an Entry-Mid level Civil Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team for dam removals, embankment repairs, fish passage and stream restoration projects across the U.S. The role combines design work with construction support and offers a hybrid work arrangement with 2–3 days in the office per week.

You will collaborate with senior staff on design to issued-for-bid drawings, perform site visits, data collection, hydraulic calculations, and prepare technical reports.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Erosion & sediment control and stormwater management design experience.
• Prior exposure to engineering design/construction support tasks.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Engineer in Training (EIT).

Responsibilities

• Work with senior staff on all stages of project delivery from conceptual designs to issued for bid construction drawings.
• Collaborate with scientists, data analysts, engineers and licensing experts to develop solutions for renewable energy projects.
• Gain expertise in civil site design, hydraulic fish passage, slope and embankment protection, and stream channel design for dam decommissioning.
• Perform site visits, field data collection, engineering calculations and CAD design.
