Springer Nature US is seeking a Chief Editor to shape the direction of a new journal and act as its ambassador within the biology research communities. You will lead internal and external editorial teams, setting strategy to maximize visibility and scientific quality.

Qualifications

Educated to PhD level in a relevant field.
Broad knowledge in biomedical technologies.
Editorial experience with manuscript selection and processing.
Strong time management and prioritization.
Influential communicator across levels and portfolios.

Knowledge of current challenges in scientific publishing.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a high-performing editorial team and ensure timely publication.
Recruit and engage external Editorial Board members and build networks to support objectives.
Develop and follow a strategic plan for journal growth and development.
Determine content published and oversee peer review processes.
Represent the journal to authors, reviewers and external communities.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet shared goals.
Build trusted relationships with internal colleagues and external researchers.
Manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
