Qualifications

• Educated to PhD level (or equivalent) in a biomedical field.

Responsibilities

• Handle original research manuscripts with critical evaluation for publication suitability.
• Deliver high-quality editorial services aligned with journal standards and timelines.
• Manage publishing workflows and systems for efficient processing.
• Collaborate with authors, reviewers and editorial board to ensure rigorous reviews.
• Represent the journal within the scientific community and keep up with trends.
• Contribute to editorial policies and publishing processes to uphold integrity.
• Communicate clearly with authors and reviewers to guide peer review.
• Build partnerships and manage competing priorities to drive alignment.
• Partner with the Chief Editor to execute development strategy and growth.
• Drive content development by attracting submissions and commissioning reviews.
• Represent BMC and Springer Nature at conferences and within research institutions.
