Job summary

Vizient is seeking a strategic Category Management Director to lead category portfolios, drive value-based sourcing, and align contracting with client priorities. You will advise stakeholders across clinicians, executives, and suppliers, shaping strategies and spend optimization.

You will manage complex sourcing initiatives, mentor team members, and apply AI-driven insights to improve decisions and outcomes across the organization. A hybrid work model with some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing and category initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational, and supplier stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder committees or cross-functional decision-making groups.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills translating data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent executive communication and relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of AI tools and applying AI in business contexts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead comprehensive category strategies aligned with client priorities.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives from opportunity assessment to implementation.
• Negotiate complex terms with suppliers and build consensus among stakeholders.
• Maintain cross-functional collaboration across sourcing, contracting, analytics, and value analysis.
• Present strategies and outcomes to executive-level audiences.
• Mentor team members and provide subject matter expertise.
