Job summary

Howden in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Cash Specialist to manage Direct Bill processing and reconciliation for Health & Benefits and Private Client portfolios. The role emphasizes timely statement collection, accurate posting, and issue resolution with carriers and internal teams.

You will work in a hybrid schedule, supporting month-end processing, reporting, and governance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of the Direct Bill lifecycle, including carrier and vendor statement collection, reconciliation, commission posting, aging management, and unapplied cash resolution within an agency management system; Applied Epic tactical experience is highly desirable.
• 2+ years of experience in Direct Bill, insurance accounting, commission reconciliation, or comparable accounting operations, preferably within an agency environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collect statements from carriers and vendors and ensure timely processing and reconciliation.
• Reconcile carrier commission statements to agency system records and ensure correct posting to policies and client accounts.
• Investigate and resolve billing, commission, and reconciliation discrepancies with carriers and internal teams.
• Monitor Direct Bill aging and unapplied cash, coordinating with carriers and internal teams to resolve past-due items.
• Support KPI reporting, data-driven insights, and cross-functional process improvements.
