Job summary

Professional Alternatives is seeking a Cash Reconciliation Accountant to join our Dallas team. Hybrid role with four days in-office and one day remote remains focused on accurate cash activity across bank accounts, the GL, and supporting systems.

You will own reconciliations, resolve aging items, and support month-end close while collaborating across Accounting, Treasury, and IT. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of cash reconciliation experience, strong analytical skills, and a proven track

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on cash reconciliation experience.
• Ability to independently reconcile complex, high-volume cash activity.
• Strong investigative skills; resolve discrepancies and aging items.
• Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, large datasets).
• Experience with ERP/banking systems; Workday or comparable system a plus.
• Familiarity with Trintech Matcher or similar platform preferred.
• Understanding GAAP, journal entries, month-end close, and audit support.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and deadline discipline.
• Effective cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Own daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of high-volume cash accounts.
• Investigate and resolve unmatched cash activity and timing differences.
• Research discrepancies from source to final accounting entry; identify root causes.
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries; maintain documentation.
• Use Trintech Matcher to load data and manage reconciliation workflows.
• Support month-, quarter-, and year-end close with rollforwards and schedules.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, AP/AR, IT to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve matching rules and reduce aged items.
