Job summary

Red Wing Shoe Company, based in Red Wing, MN, seeks a Sr. Capital Asset Accountant to manage fixed asset and lease accounting and to coordinate cross‑functional capital activities. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, with a focus on accuracy and process automation.

The position offers a hybrid work model with in-office Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Candidates should reside within commuting distance of Red Wing, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred but not required.
• 5-7 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting with progressive responsibility.
• Experience with fixed asset and lease accounting.
• Experience driving process improvements, including automation of processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset and lease accounting activities, including transactions, depreciation, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain fixed asset and lease records with proper classification and reporting.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, analyses, forecasts, and management reporting for assets and leases.
• Partner with leaders to support capital planning, budgeting, and project tracking.
• Support internal and external audit activities and disclosures.
• Identify and lead process improvements to enhance asset and lease accounting.
