Job summary

Red Wing Shoe Company is seeking a Sr. Capital Asset Accountant to oversee fixed assets and leases, ensuring accurate accounting and timely reporting to support strategic initiatives.

The role partners with PMO and business leaders to manage capital expenditure requests, budgeting, forecasting, and project tracking in a dynamic environment. You will drive process improvements, ensure compliance with GAAP, and mentor cross-functional teams while maintaining detailed documentation and delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is helpful but not required.
• 5–7 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting with month-end close responsibilities.
• Experience with fixed asset and lease accounting.
• Experience driving process improvements, including automation of processes through technology.

Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset and lease accounting activities, including transaction processing, depreciation, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset and lease records, ensuring proper classification, capitalization, and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations, analyses, forecasts, and management reporting related to capital assets and leases.
• Partner with business leaders to support capital planning, capital expenditure requests, budgeting, forecasting, and project tracking.
• Support internal and external audit activities, disclosures, and implementation of new accounting requirements.
• Identify and lead process improvements to enhance asset and lease accounting processes.
